proceedings, but he thinks Mr. Chamberlain will agree
that there is no objection to the terms of reference
being enlarged, so as to provide that the value of the
land at Nog Tau Kok should be assessed, as suggested in
paragraph 6 of the War Office letter to the General
Officer Commanding dated 4th July 1902. The information
thus gained would facilitate a decision on the conclusion
of the arbitration.

Had time permitted the question would have
been referred for the consideration of Mr. Chamberlain
before communicating with the Military Authorities at
the station.
